William E. Nichols, retired, practiced law since 1957. He initially engaged in general practice, concentrating in litigation and real estate. For the last twenty-five (25) years, his focus has been in the fields of decedent's estates, taxation, corporate, real estate, and contract law. He has had extensive experience in handling estates as well as serving as counsel to the trust department of a local bank.

He has served his community as Chairman or President to the Boards of:
Williamsport City Council, James V. Brown Library, STEP, Inc. (Founding President), Lycoming Law Association, Williamsport-Lycoming Foundation, and Williamsport Municipal Water Authority. He also serves(ed) on the Boards of Williamsport Sewer Authority, Lycoming Law Association Foundation, Williamsport Hospital, Williamsport Chamber of Commerce, Visiting Nurse Association, and as Editor of the Lycoming Reporter.
Mr. Nichols is a 1951 graduate of Penn State University and a 1957 graduate of Dickinson School of Law. During the years 1951 through 1954, he served the U.S. Navy onboard the USS GEARING (DD 710) as its Legal Officer and ASW Officer. He has been admitted to practice in local , state, and appellate Courts of Pennsylvania, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, as well as the United States Supreme Court.
Mr. Nichols and his wife, Patricia, are the parents of six children.
